Charminar
The epic signature of the city, CharMinar makes for a wonderful sight. Located in the heart of Hyderabad’s old city, surrounded by Mecca Masjid, built using bricks from Mecca and Laad Bazaar – a boisterous shopping street, this landmark is laced in history. Built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, it was constructed to commemorate the founding of Hyderabad and also to ward of a deadly epidemic that was rampant then in the Golconda region. Graced by 4 minarets soaring almost 50ft in height, it has a mosque and 45 prayer spaces.
Golkonda
A medieval fort now overlooking the city, Golconda is one of the historical places to visit in Hyderabad. Originally built in mud on a 400ft hill, the fort ruins of today have seen the reign of several dynasties. Situated 11km away from the bustling urbanism of Hyderabad, it derives its name from a Telugu word meaning Shepherd’s Hill. Reminiscence of a well-planned Golconda city within the fortress limits is evident even now. The remains of multiple fortification layers, armories, magazines, mosques, granaries, reservoirs, audience chambers and royal dwellings complement the striking appearance of the fort.
Birla Mandir
Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple, built on a 280 feet (85 m) high hillock called Naubath Pahad on a 13 acres (53,000 m2) plot. The construction took 10 years and was opened in 1976 by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission. The temple was constructed by Birla Foundation, which has also constructed several similar temples across India, all of which are known as Birla Mandir.
Ramoji Film City
The Ramoji Film City in India is located in Hyderabad. At 800 acres, it is the largest integrated film city in the world. It holds the Guinness World Records for being the largest film studio complex in the world and measures 17000acres.
It is also a popular tourism and recreation centre, containing natural and artificial attractions including an amusement park. The Outer Ring Road Phase 2 has acquired lands at the entrance and is set to intersect the city
Lumbini Park
Lumbini Park is a small public, urban park of 7.5 acres (0.030 km2; 0.0117 sq mi) adjacent to Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad, India. India named after Lumbini of Nepal dedicated to Lord Buddha. Since it is located in the center of the city and is in close proximity to other tourist attractions, such as Birla Mandir and Necklace Road, it attracts many visitors throughout the year. Constructed in 1994, the park is maintained by the Buddha Purnima Project Authority that functions under the directives of the Government of Telangana.
Nehru Zoological Park
A 50yr old zoo extending over 380 acres, the Nehru Zoological Park is a wonderful blend of ecological programmes, animal habitats, research facilities, and other such attractions. Being a well-equipped zoo, visitors can comfortably spend an entire day here enjoying several facilities such as toy train, kids park, hired bicycle rides, boating, walks around large aquariums with fresh water and marine aqua life on display.
NTR Gardens
NTR Gardens is a small public, urban park of 36 acres (0.15 km2; 0.056 sq mi) adjacent to Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad, India. Constructed in several phases since 1999, the area that is predominantly a park is geographically located in the centre of the city, and is close to other tourist attractions such as Birla Mandir, Necklace Road and Lumbini Park. It maintained by the Buddha Purnima Project Authority that functions under the directives of the Government of Telangana.
Hussain Sagar
One of the largest man-made lakes in India, Hussain Sagar Lake has been adorning the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad since 1562. A tourist destination that cannot be missed as places to visit in Hyderabad with family, the lake is best to spend time around dusk with pleasant air filling the surroundings.

Makkah Masjid, Hyderabad

The artistic taste of Muhammad Quli Qutbh, the fifth ruler of the Qutbh Shahi commissioned the bricks from holy Mecca. Today, it is the religious center to offer prayers for the devout Muslims.
The ramparts of the mosque are made of granite and are in form of inverted conches that are located on walls that are ornamental in form. It is decorated with Belgian imported crystal chandeliers. The devotees sit around the artificial pond and experience a feeling of serenity. Ancient relics and floral motifs add to the aura of the times when the Mecca Masjid was built.
Qutb Shahi tombs
The Qutb Shahi Tombs are located in the Ibrahim Bagh (garden precinct), close to the famous Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad, India. They contain the tombs and mosques built by the various kings of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The galleries of the smaller tombs are of a single storey while the larger ones are two storied. In the centre of each tomb is a sarcophagus which overlies the actual burial vault in a crypt below. The domes were originally overlaid with blue and green tiles, of which only a few pieces now remain.
Birla Science Museum
B.M. Birla Science Museum is an Indian science museum located in Hyderabad, India. Constructed by civil engineer Mr. P. A. Singaravelu, it comprises a planetarium, museum, science center, art gallery as well as a dinosaurium. The museum itself was the second phase of the science center when it opened in 1990.
Osman Sagar
Osman Sagar, popularly known as Gandipet, is a reservoir in the Indian city of Hyderabad. The lake is around 46 km², and the reservoir is around 29 km², with total level of 1,790 feet and a capacity of 3.9 tmc ft.
Jalavihar
Jalavihar is a waterpark located in Hyderabad, Telangana, (India) within an area of about 12.5 acres (5.1 ha). Located beside Sanjeevaiah Park and along the Hussain Sagar lake, the park was inaugurated on 20 May 2007.
